Arkansas Tech Phi Mus "Lend to Those Less Fortunate, a Helping Hand"

Posted by Jamie Beck on March 21, 2012

Phi Mu’s national philanthropy is Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, and local philanthropy is Big Brothers Big Sisters.

From April 2nd-April 4th, Phi Mu will be hosting Phi Mu Philanthropy Week to benefit both their national and local philanthropy.  On April 2nd, they will be raising awareness on how to get involved with Arkansas Children’s Hospital and Big Brothers Big Sisters, and inviting the campus to “give a hand” in raising money for CMNH.  On April 3rd, Phi Mu will be hosting a spirit night at Chick-fil-A.  On April 4th, they will host a ladies night of Vera Bradley Bingo to benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters.  On April 5th, Phi Mu will host Polos and Pearls, a field day with a silent auction and entertainment.

This semester, Phi Mu Epsilon Lambda won the Canned Food Sculpture Competition during Wonder Week.  Every March, each chapter of Phi Mu raises money for Phi Mu Foundation, a non-profit organization designed to help other Phi Mu sisters who need scholarships or endure hardships.  Midway through March, Epsilon Lambda has raised over $625. In the fall, Phi Mu will have their 2nd Annual Phi Mus, Blues, & BBQ Event to benefit Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.  Phi Mu is committed to the first line of our creed, “to lend to those less fortunate a helping hand.”
